Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing project schedules during the proposal phase. This includes analyzing client tender documents, identifying project control requirements and potential schedule risks, and creating mitigation plans to ensure alignment with client milestones (as far as possible).
The role involves coordinating proposal teams and construction partners to ensure all planning tasks are aligned. Additionally, the engineer will prepare progress curves and manpower histograms to avoid aggressive peaks in manpower and equipment usage, optimizing resource allocation during construction.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze client invitation to bid requirements and identify potential schedule risks, developing mitigation plans to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare project schedules at all levels during the proposal phase using Primavera P6.
- Define key project milestones based on client requirements and ensure activities align with these milestones.
- Review and evaluate activity durations across all disciplines for inclusion in the schedule ensuring consistency with project milestones.
- Establish logical relationships among activities.
- Prepare planned progress curves based on the project schedule.
- Generate manpower histograms for all phases : Home Office Manpower Histogram, Construction Direct Manhours Histogram, and Construction Supervision Histogram.
- Develop construction key quantity curves.
- Prepare a schedule narrative outlining the basis of the schedule and key dates for client submission.
- Track and respond to client clarifications and amendments related to the offer.
- Prepare presentations and coordinate meetings with partners and clients.
- Maintain relationships with construction partners, align strategies, and distribute tasks.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant technical degree and at least 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on planning and proven experience through all project phases.
Extensive experience in refinery, petrochemicals or power is required, as well as proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office.
