Overview

Business Development Director – Biogas

Our client, a leading European renewable energy developer, is expanding its biogas & biomethane portfolio in Spain. They are seeking a senior commercial leader to drive business growth and lead strategic partnerships across the Iberian market.

Responsibilities

Originate & secure new biogas / biomethane projects in Spain (greenfield, brownfield, JV).
Negotiate long-term offtake agreements (biomethane, PPAs, bio-LNG, GoOs).
Develop feedstock partnerships with agriculture, F&B, and waste sectors.
Build relationships with utilities, energy traders, and regulators.
Shape business strategy in line with Spanish & EU renewable policies (RED III, PERTE ERHA, Biogas Roadmap).

Requirements

10+ years’ experience in biogas / biomethane, renewable gas, or adjacent energy sectors.

Strong commercial network in Spain’s energy & agriculture markets.

Proven track record of closing large-scale deals (€10m–€50m+).

MUST be Fluent Spanish & English.
