Senior Legal Counsel (m / f / d)

Overview Your tasks consist of

Legal advice, support and execution in connection with and during all stages of the Bank’s real estate financing activities primarily in Central and Southern Europe (ideally also UK)

Responsibility for legal aspects of lending through all phases of the real estate financing life cycle, including initial structuring of loans and assistance in the establishment of lending terms, dealing with lending related regulatory and compliance issues (including pfandbrief indeckungnahme), legal advice within the Bank’s credit submissions, loan, negotiation and documentation, syndication, portfolio management, distressed / workout, enforcement, and special servicing situations

Delivery of swift, commercially sound, solution oriented legal advice to the Bank’s credit gremia, other departments and internal stakeholders incl. the management board of the Bank’s lending presence at the Location

Monitoring of legal developments particularly for the Spanish market and advice of the relevant stakeholders in the Bank (at the Location and the Bank’s headquarter in Germany)

Openness to / experience with real estate lending in international / non-Spanish context and background and mindset suited for working in international organisations

Your skills consist of

You are a fully qualified lawyer licensed to practise in Spain (Master de Acceso a la Abogacia / Prueba de Acceso a la Abogacia), preferably supplemented by a relevant international qualification.

You have at least 8 years of professional experience after qualifying.

You have experience in preparing and processing loan documentation packages for large-scale real estate loans (bilateral transactions, club deals, syndicated transactions) and have additional knowledge / experience in real estate and insolvency law.

You are familiar with common software systems, especially MS Office.

You have excellent spoken and written Spanish and English skills and preferably business skills in another European language. The bank's communication is in English.

You have strong analytical skills and are able to structure complex real estate loan transactions involving more than one jurisdiction in a short period of time. In addition, you are solution-oriented, conscientious and quick on the uptake.

You are able to work both in interdisciplinary teams and independently.

Strong coordination, communication and interpersonal skills (both with internal and external clients) as well as self-motivation and perseverance round off your profile.
