Overview

We expect you to join us in Zagreb during the three-month onboarding period to get to know the team and the product. After onboarding, the position is available as a fully remote role.

Sofascore is a leading provider of live scores and advanced sports insights. Some tell stories with words, and we tell ours with numbers.

We developed a mobile app and website that cover over 1 million games annually for 25 sports in 40+ languages. Our goal is to provide sports fans with superior insights about their favourite players, clubs, leagues, and competitions.

The info we provide, whether it\'s live results, stats, or data, is delivered in real time, so you never miss a beat. It\'s your seat at the world\'s biggest stadium.

The Sofascore team counts more than 300 experts, primarily in our homecourt in Croatia but also worldwide.

About the role

We’re looking for a Head of Sales & Business Development , a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all sales-related teams and driving our company’s commercial success on a global scale.

Reporting directly to the Chief Business Development Officer , you will lead the Heads and Team Leads of our commercial functions, Sales Executives, Account Management, Ad Operations, and Business Development - ensuring they are aligned, high-performing, and strategically focused. While you will have ultimate responsibility for all sales teams, your day-to-day work will be primarily with their leaders, empowering them to succeed and scale their teams effectively.

In this role, your primary responsibility will be to drive revenue by leading the teams that sell our advertising inventory and deliver impactful campaigns for brands that want to be closely connected with sports and Sofascore. You will ensure these teams are strategically aligned, equipped with the right tools and processes, and focused on maximizing the value of our publisher role. Alongside this, you will support the development of strategic partnerships with major sports organizations, further strengthening Sofascore’s position in the sports ecosystem. Above all, you will foster a collaborative, results-driven culture that consistently delivers growth.

We’re seeking someone who thrives in a global, fast-paced environment, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth managing diverse teams across different time zones, both remotely and on-site. Experience in delivering strong commercial results, ideally within advertising, sports, or related industries will be considered a strong advantage.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all sales teams across Sofascore
  • Define, execute, and continuously optimize the company’s global sales strategy in collaboration with the Chief Business Development Officer and the Board
  • Build and implement scalable processes, structures, and frameworks to support growth, improve efficiency, and ensure a consistently excellent client experience
  • Develop and drive sales strategies for major brands, creating bundled offerings across Sofascore’s advertising inventory to maximize value
  • Oversee Ad Operations performance, including campaign optimization, yield management, and revenue efficiency
  • Drive alignment and collaboration between sales teams and other departments such as Marketing, Product, and Operations
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key sales metrics to ensure performance goals are met or exceeded
  • Support the professional development of sales leaders through coaching, guidance, and succession planning
  • Identify new market opportunities and innovative approaches to maximize revenue across all products and regions
  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented sales culture focused on sustainable growth and strategic partnerships

What you bring to the team

  • 5+ years of senior sales leadership experience in a global company, ideally managing multi-disciplinary teams across different regions
  • Proven experience leading leaders — managing Heads of Departments and Team Leads rather than individual contributors
  • Strong track record of delivering growth through strategic planning, team leadership, and operational excellence
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to think strategically while staying hands-on when needed
  • Experience in sports, advertising, or media industries is a strong plus
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, international environment with occasional travel
