Principal Architect

Responsibilities Strong stakeholder management to advise technology decisions towards the enterprise technology strategy. Continually inputting into an evolving technology strategy based on industry and stakeholder inputs.

Work with peers in product to define technology strategy and roadmaps that align with business strategy while balancing client needs and timelines.

Create high-level designs that articulate strategy and technology direction, focusing on business architecture, data architecture, standards, impact assessments, business cases, high-level implementation plans and non-functional requirements (NFRs).

Collaborate with business strategy, product, sales and wider technology teams to ensure shared understanding of complex architectures; identify key architecture decisions and address technical and architectural debt.

Balance breadth and depth of experience across ESW’s domains.

Ensure guardrails (principles, policies, standards and NFRs) are updated, understood and implemented across ESW.

Mentor the wider technology, business, and product teams to foster architecture excellence.

Requirements Risk management in a technology-based setting.

Stakeholder management across Engineering, Security, Business, and Finance.

Architectural experience of native and non-native cloud services for Azure or AWS including Kubernetes and CosmosDB.

Experience with OMS, Stock Management, Payments, Pricing, Finance from an e-commerce perspective.

Ability to present differences between conceptual, logical and physical architectures to stakeholders from Engineers to Executives.

Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and passion for tackling tough problems.

Outstanding communication skills and the ability to clearly convey ideas.

Strong problem-solving skills to analyze problems and select appropriate solutions.

Understanding of risk in designs and mitigation strategies.

Experience in the retail industry is advantageous.
