Role of Department – Job Summary : Liberty Specialty Markets Claims department handles claims (third party and first party claims), ensuring compliance with relevant policies through all stages from initial notification to conclusion. Responsibilities include analysis of new notifications, coverage, liability and quantum assessment, establishing and monitoring reserves, and making claims payments as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review new notifications to assess their complexity and severity to determine handling level.
- Collaborate with Claims Manager and Claims Handlers to review high-value and complex claims, including litigation claims.
- Contribute to our vision of being a leading provider of commercial claims solutions by delivering first-class claims handling services.
- Handle and resolve claims efficiently and fairly, adhering to the Claims Charter / Code of Conduct and Claims Process Guidelines.
- Promote the LSM Claims Charter and Code of Conduct, delivering excellent client service.
- Follow applicable claims reserving philosophy and standards, managing multiple cases with confidence and accuracy, and meeting targets and deadlines.
- Liaise closely with relevant stakeholders throughout the claim lifecycle, maintaining relationships to ensure service levels are met, issues are managed, and broker expectations are exceeded.
- Ensure compliance with best practices, service standards, and communication through reporting and audits.
- Manage external legal and adjuster relationships, oversee service provider fees, and control expenses.
- Maintain proper file documentation and record keeping.
- Work with underwriters and business development managers to promote good practices and client relationships.
- Stay updated on local and state laws affecting the role.
- Participate in industry conferences, committees, and meetings to promote LSM's market recognition and brand.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Solvency II, Data Protection, and others, demonstrating integrity and customer-centric behaviors.
- Respond promptly to requests for assistance or information.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Skills and Experience
