Executive Wine Director

Head Sommelier Position

Talent sought for a key role in shaping the wine program across multiple locations.

This position involves leading the team of sommeliers, creating a world-class wine offering, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Design and maintain the core wine list to reflect the identity and evolving needs of our restaurants.

Oversee recruitment, training, and development of the sommelier team.

Provide coaching and tasting sessions to ensure service excellence and product expertise.

Act as the lead advisor for wine selection and provide expert recommendations to staff regarding pairings and guest interactions.

Collaborate with commercial and operations teams to promote specific wines in alignment with business priorities.

Support upselling efforts and increase guest wine engagement.

Ensure precise control over wine stock and inventory. Supervise purchasing, deliveries, storage, and stock movement to guarantee optimal availability and minimal loss.

Key Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining the core wine list, overseeing the recruitment, training, and development of the sommelier team, providing coaching and tasting sessions, acting as the lead advisor for wine selection, collaborating with commercial and operations teams, supporting upselling efforts, and ensuring precise control over wine stock and inventory.

Requirements & Qualifications :

Proven experience as a Head Sommelier or Senior Sommelier in a high-end or Michelin-starred environment.

In-depth knowledge of global wines, appellations, producers, and wine trends.

Strong leadership and team development skills; experience mentoring junior sommeliers is essential.

Excellent palate, communication skills, and guest-facing confidence.

Strong commercial awareness and the ability to align wine strategy with business goals.

Experience managing wine stock systems, inventory controls, and supplier relationships.

WSET Level 3 (or equivalent) required; Diploma or Master Sommelier certification is a strong plus.

Fluent in Spanish and English.
