Since its inception in 2014 by pioneering Bitcoin enthusiasts, Tether has launched the first 'stablecoin', USD₮, and expanded into Tether Data, Tether Power, Tether Edu, and more. We aim to democratize access to finance, education, data, and technology for individuals, businesses, and governments worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Regulatory Affairs to develop and implement global regulatory strategies for Tether Data, focusing on AI and P2P technologies. Our mission is to use technology to ensure freedom and respect for human rights, safeguarding privacy in a rapidly changing world.

With investments in AI infrastructure, starting from Northern Data, we are positioned to undertake ambitious AI projects, building next-generation models that are accessible, transparent, and privacy-preserving. We are also advancing P2P technology, reducing infrastructure costs and improving global communication through solutions like KEET, our flagship app for secure, private data sharing.

Our remote team combines global talent to build innovative AI and P2P solutions that surpass current industry standards, fostering technological progress and broad accessibility.

Responsibilities

  • Policy Monitoring, Analysis, and Guidance : Monitor, analyze, and communicate changes in global regulatory policies. Advise leadership on risks and opportunities, influence regulatory frameworks, and ensure proactive compliance.
  • Regulatory Advocacy and Thought Leadership : Lead or participate in interactions with regulatory agencies and advocacy efforts. Develop and execute regulatory strategies, select favorable markets, and prepare the company for compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Legal, R&D, and Compliance Integration : Collaborate with legal, compliance, and R&D teams, including partners, to incorporate regulatory considerations into AI model design and deployment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior regulatory role within technology, AI, or digital industries.
  • Strong knowledge of global AI regulations, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR), and emerging AI and P2P governance trends.
  • Legal, compliance, or policy background with understanding of ethical AI principles is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Policy, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Fluency in a second language, notably Spanish, is a plus.
