Location

We have offices in Madrid (Gran Vía), and we are also open to a full remote setting from Spain.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Internal Controls & Compliance Specialist to take ownership of compliance and internal controls across Europe. This is a key role reporting to our Head of Legal, where you will be the go-to person for all things AML and compliance.

Think of it as a "jack of all trades" position : you’ll coordinate existing AML processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple frameworks, while also being the bridge between Legal, Risk, and other teams.

You’ll be spearheading compliance, owning escalations, SAR reporting, and helping us wrap up MiCA and other upcoming regulatory requirements. Our Risk team will continue building automated alerts, but you’ll take the lead in driving compliance strategy and execution.

What You’ll Do

• Own AML & Compliance in Europe : Lead and coordinate KYC / KYB checks, sanctions screening, escalations, and SAR reporting. Act as the key contact for regulators and external auditors.
• Drive Regulatory Alignment : Partner with Legal to finalize MiCA implementation and keep Crossmint in step with GDPR, DORA, SOC 2, ISO, and other relevant frameworks. Prepare clear and timely reports for regulators and internal stakeholders.
• Strengthen Internal Controls : Design, monitor, and refine controls to mitigate risks around AML, fraud, and financial misstatements. Coordinate audits, identify gaps, and put action plans in place.
• Collaborate Across Teams : Work with Risk (who handle the alerts and monitoring), Finance, Security, and Product to embed compliance into business processes without slowing innovation.
• Be a Compliance Champion : Lead awareness initiatives, provide training, and make sure compliance is part of our DNA. Escalate issues when necessary and propose data-driven solutions.
• Shape the Future of Compliance at Crossmint : Lay the groundwork for compliance leadership in a scaling company. Within six months, you could be managing someone directly and building the foundations of a bigger team.
