Head of Engineering – Blockchain Infrastructure. Remote (Europe) | Full-Time | $200K–$300K base salary + Tokens & Equity | Rust + Distributed Systems

About The Role : A frontier blockchain infrastructure company is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead technical vision, execution, and team culture. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building secure, scalable, and high-performance systems that enhance how applications interact with Solana. You’ll guide architecture, mentor a world-class Rust team, and collaborate with founders to shape long-term strategy. From protocol design to infrastructure reliability, you’ll drive innovation across every layer of the stack.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership : Architect and evolve distributed systems for scale, performance, and security; translate protocol specs into modular, performant Rust code; automate performance testing, security benchmarking, and CI / CD pipelines.

Team Leadership & Culture : Grow and mentor a high-performing engineering team; set engineering best practices and operational standards; enable frequent, high-quality code shipping.

Infrastructure & Operations : Oversee reliability and scalability across Kubernetes, cloud, and networking layers; establish incident response protocols and ensure platform resilience.

Strategic Alignment : Collaborate with founders on long-term technical direction; align engineering execution with product roadmap and mission; represent the company at industry events and technical forums.

What You’ll Bring

Proven leadership in blockchain, distributed systems, or high-performance infrastructure

Deep Rust (or C / C++ / Go) expertise and systems-level programming skills

Experience scaling L1 / L2 architectures and cloud-native infrastructure

Strong grasp of protocol design, security, and cryptographic systems

Empathetic leadership style with mentoring experience

Excellent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Open-source contributions to core protocol engineering (e.g., Firedancer, Reth, Lighthouse, Geth)

Direct involvement in the Solana ecosystem

Experience in blockchain security research and public engagement

Production experience scaling distributed systems and infrastructure

Compensation & Benefits

$200K–$300K base salary
