Renewable energy financial controller

From Taylor Hopkinson we are looking for a Financial Controller for a a fast-growing developer and investor in utility-scale solar energy projects and BESS across the globe. With a proven track record and an innovative approach, they are looking to expand their team to help accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.About the position : The Financial Controller is responsible for coordinating, administering and controlling financial operations of the company including the production of periodic financial reports : providing tax, insurance, and other reports required by governmental regulations; reviewing, analyzing and interpreting financial and budgetary reports, directing all aspects of accounting operations and the preparation of annual financial forecasts. Will oversee the development of a financial accounting system that will maintain accurate and accessible reporting for the company; brings to the attention of management any positive or negative trends in financial data; assures management is abreast of all pertinent accounting issues in a timely fashion; and maintains a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s financial results, and ensures that reported results comply with all generally accepted accounting principles.Responsibilities : Assist leadership in the short and long-term budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.Comply with local, state, federal, financial institutions, lenders and vendors report requirements and guidelines.Consistently correct, organize, and analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep leadership abreast of financial status.Ensures that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained according to company standards. Takes direction from the leadership to coordinate all audits and reviews the provisioning of information to external auditors for the annual audit or review.Semimonthly payroll input and reviewManages company cash flow to ensure adequate cash for optimum operations. Calculate variances form the budget and report significant issues to the leadership.Oversees the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the Department’s goals and objectives.Company account management and coordination with leadership.Assist with expense tracking, invoice processing, and accounts payable coordination.Support budget preparation and vendor contract management.Liaise with accountants and external advisors for compliance and reporting.Work with leadership in management of the company.Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree required in accounting3-5+years of accounting experienceRenewable / Energy experience preferredConsolidation entriesAbility to organize and manage multiple prioritiesAbility to handle change and unique situations as they ariseSolid professional and courteous communications skills both written and verbalProficiency in English and Spanish required
