Senior Research / AI Engineer (Large Language Models) - On site in Barcelona

We’re seeking a Senior Research / AI Engineer with deep expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and a passion for driving innovation in Natural Language Processing and Generative AI . You’ll be at the forefront of developing, optimizing, and deploying production-ready AI solutions that power next-generation applications.

What You’ll Do

Lead the full lifecycle of LLM-driven projects — from research and prototyping to production deployment and monitoring.

Work hands-on with state-of-the-art models (e.g., GPT, Llama, Mistral, Gemini, Gemma) to design new features and intelligent products.

Apply fine-tuning , model distillation , and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques to enhance performance and contextual accuracy.

Write clean, efficient, and scalable Python code to support robust AI systems.

Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into production-grade solutions.

Stay ahead of the curve by researching and applying the latest breakthroughs in AI / ML and NLP.

✅ What You’ll Bring

5+ years of experience in Machine Learning , Deep Learning , or AI Research .

Strong programming skills in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow .

Hands-on experience with LLM fine-tuning or distillation .

Proven ability to design, train, and deploy ML models at scale.

Solid grounding in data structures , algorithms , and software engineering principles .

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex AI concepts clearly.

A self-starter mindset with the ability to lead technical initiatives independently.

Nice to Have

Master’s or PhD in Computer Science , AI , or a related field.

Contributions to AI research (publications or open-source projects).

Familiarity with GCP , Vertex AI , and frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex .
