About the job Team Lead
As the Compute Team Lead, you'll guide the engineering team responsible for the compute platform that drives the core services of our client. This team builds the foundation on which our infrastructure, applications, and automation systems run.
You'll balance hands-on technical work with leadership-mentoring engineers, defining priorities, and shaping how Pragmatike delivers scalable, reliable compute solutions across the cloud.
This is a pivotal role for a strong technical leader who can manage people, make strategic calls, and still roll up their sleeves to write production-grade code.

About the Role
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of ~8 software engineers focused on compute and platform engineering
- Drive architectural decisions for the compute platform, balancing reliability, scalability, and developer experience
- Remain hands-on with code (approx. 50% of your time) to stay close to the technology and guide by example
- Design, implement, and optimize core compute services (e.g., orchestration, provisioning, scaling, runtime systems)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Infrastructure, Security, and Backend teams to align on priorities and integrations
- Conduct regular 1 : 1s, performance reviews, and mentorship to help team members grow technically and professionally
- Foster ownership, accountability, and a culture of engineering excellence
- Translate strategic goals into clear execution plans and ensure the team delivers against them
- Champion best practices in software development, automation, and operational excellence
- Be a key decision-maker in platform evolution, ensuring pragmatic, forward-looking solutions
What Were Looking For
7+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or management roleDeep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred : EC2, ECS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch)Strong experience with Golang for building distributed, performant backend systemsProven expertise in infrastructure and platform engineering compute orchestration, scaling, observability, reliabilityFamiliarity with Kubernetes , containerization , and service mesh concepts (e.g., Istio, Envoy)Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK)Experience automating CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar)Solid understanding of Linux systems , networking basics , and monitoring / alerting best practicesExcellent communication and leadership skillsable to manage performance, set expectations, and motivate engineersStrong technical judgment and ability to balance hands-on coding with people and strategic responsibilitiesPragmatike is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants without discrimination.
