We are hiring a Procurement Manager for our European Procurement department. This role will lead all strategic, tactical, and operational procurement activities in the Central Eastern Region (Germany and Poland). The manager will oversee a team of procurement professionals responsible for category sourcing of complex commodities at the regional level, reporting directly to the European Procurement Director and functionally to the regional Managing Director.
The position provides high-value procurement solutions, supporting third-party vendor selection, vendor development, technology management, and performance measurement to achieve productivity improvements, cost savings, and process enhancements in collaboration with business stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute regional category strategies aligned with internal stakeholders and the European procurement strategy, including contract management and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
- Promote digital transformation within regional procurement, ensuring a smooth transition from transactional to strategic procurement practices.
- Serve as the primary contact for regional procurement activities between regional and European organizations.
- Manage and develop the regional procurement team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Build and maintain sustainable relationships with stakeholders, analyze the regional value chain, and apply total cost of ownership and cost modeling techniques.
- Lead organizational reshaping to transition from tactical to strategic procurement processes.
- Ensure timely and complete order entry, including contract coverage and compliance with EU regulations.
- Oversee the purchase order approval process and optimize operating and investment costs through tenders and negotiations.
- Analyze market trends and develop strategies to enhance supplier networks.
- Monitor key performance indicators and supplier performance to ensure contractual compliance.
- Advance procurement strategies to reduce risks, cut costs, and streamline processes.
- Manage internal stakeholder relationships and set clear targets aligned with regional goals.
- Implement digital procurement initiatives for efficiency and 'one-click' purchasing.
- Report monthly savings and develop regional KPIs to measure performance across categories and processes.
Job requirements
Academic background :
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.MBA or advanced degree is a plus.Experience :
At least 5 years of procurement experience or related industry experience.Strong negotiation skills, with advanced procurement and tendering knowledge, financial acumen, and basic legal understanding.Experience managing KPIs, dashboards, and reports using procurement tools.Experience working in a multicultural, global organization.Languages : Fluent in written and spoken German and English.
