Renewable Energy Project Specialist

Overview We are seeking a Renewable Energy Project Specialist to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As we continue to grow our presence in the Iberia region, this role will play a critical part in delivering fully integrated renewable solutions across Europe.

Responsibilities Develop and implement utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects from site identification to commissioning.

Design and optimize smart, flexible systems, including standalone and hybrid systems with wind and solar power.

Evaluate grid capacity and manage interconnection processes to ensure seamless integration of new energy sources.

Navigate complex permitting and regulatory requirements with local authorities.

Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including grid operators, engineers, and energy professionals.

Contribute to the development of regional storage strategies in emerging markets.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution, leveraging expertise in engineering, law, and finance.

Manage project timelines and resources efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.

Maintain awareness of industry trends and regulatory developments to inform strategic decision-making.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in renewables, with a strong background in BESS / hybrid project management in the Iberia region.

In-depth knowledge of Spain and Portugal's electrical transmission and distribution systems.

Understanding of the Iberia regulatory environment, including permitting, licensing, and compliance.

Proven project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Fluency in Spanish and English; Portuguese is an asset.
