Overview

Senior Java Developer (Backend Services) role at Gameloft Barcelona

We are building the next-generation game backend services platform and are looking for a dedicated, talented and passionate senior software developer to play a leading role in this endeavor. You will work closely with clients and the infrastructure team to create state-of-the-art products for our games. You will be part of a cross-functional, cross-studio agile development team creating innovative enterprise-level technology solutions and will work with state-of-the-art cloud technologies that manage over 10 billion requests per day from over 20 million active players across more than 100 games.

Responsibilities

Play a key role in a team of high-skilled developers and DevOps

Mentor and serve as a technical point of contact for the team

Design and develop distributed, scalable, resilient, highly available services and systems with a focus on quality, security and cost efficiency

Be involved in all product development and delivery stages

Research and prototype various technologies useful for the project

Stay updated with the latest industry trends

Develop, deploy, support and maintain services that support Gameloft’s online gaming infrastructure (multiplayer services, leaderboards, authentication, social networks, and more)

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in object-oriented programming writing high-quality and well-documented Java code – Spring / Spring Boot

Proven experience designing, deploying and working with microservices in a cloud environment

Knowledge of RESTful APIs, design patterns, and web services architecture

Ability to understand abstract requirements, define implementation steps and deliver results focused on client needs

Adaptable to challenges, learning new technologies and prototyping new ideas

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and communication

Proactive and independent

Meticulous and focused on code quality

Nice to have : knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL databases; AWS services; Docker and Kubernetes; Python (asset)
