Overview
Payroll Specialist based in Barcelona, Spain, supporting our operations in Poland from the Barcelona office on a temporary, fixed-term contract. The role is part of an international EMEA Payroll team and involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for Poland, with potential to support additional countries. You will work with global systems such as Workday and ADP, maintain payroll data, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage end-to-end payroll for Poland and potentially other EMEA countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and audit payroll data in Workday and ADP, including fixed and variable pay, expatriate compensation, and off-cycle payments.
- Ensure compliance with country-specific tax, social security, and pension requirements, including remittance to authorities and regulatory reporting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, IT, and external payroll providers to resolve issues and improve payroll processes.
- Support internal controls and audits, including SOX compliance, by documenting processes and participating in testing and reporting activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements, participating in payroll-related projects, and sharing best practices across the EMEA payroll team.
- Provide service in a customer-oriented environment and work with third-party vendors as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
Desirable previous payroll experience, preferably in a multi-country or international environment, with a strong understanding of payroll operations and compliance.Desirable knowledge of payroll systems, especially Workday and ADP, and strong Excel skills for data validation, reporting, and reconciliation.Knowledge of statutory regulations related to payroll, tax, social security, and benefits administration in at least one EMEA country.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage confidential data and resolve payroll discrepancies independently.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in a customer service-oriented environment and with third-party vendors.Fluency in English and Polish is required; additional languages (EMEA languages) are a strong advantage.Location & Tacit Details
Based in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona area) with the European Shared Services Center; the team supports group subsidiaries across Europe and other regions. Hybrid work options may be available.
