Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cost Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost engineering, with expertise in project estimation, benchmarking, and value improvement.
The successful candidate will work closely with project leaders, engineering teams, and clients to identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities Provide support to project leaders, engineering teams, and clients to identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement process enhancements.
Benchmark design against historical performance, industry norms, and client standards to provide alternative designs that meet but do not exceed customer requirements.
Facilitate value workshops to identify and qualify opportunities for process enhancement.
Manage communications or workshops with clients (if required).
Prepare multi-discipline conceptual and definitive cost reduction proposals for capital projects with assistance from project technical disciplines.
Break down silos, improving communications and enabling individuals to contribute to a team solution.
Provide recommendations that would be incorporated into corporate specifications and standards for future use.
Translate the identified project scope and proposed alternatives into an estimate of capital expenditure costs for design, procurement, and construction.
Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.
In coordination with the in-house department Estimation Support Team, collect actual and alternative cost performance. Condition and normalize data for future use, by developing metrics and benchmarking information.
Keep abreast of significant developments in new technologies and materials by close review of technical literature, contacts with contractors, and attendance at professional and technical meetings.
Use in-house procedures and Value Improvement database and ensure database is updated during the execution of the projects involved.
Requirements Skills / Qualifications :
Hold a degree in an engineering discipline.
Have 10-15 years of experience including at least 5 years devoted to petrochemical, refinery, chemical, or power generation projects as a senior specialist or project engineer.
Expertise : Have advanced industry expertise and a proven ability to develop a deep understanding of industry trends and strategic opportunities.
Be familiar with construction practices, materials, and equipment. Ability to work with project teams, build relationships with internal and external clients to work with international cultures and having international experience is preferable.
