We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Barcelona office and help expand our presence in the local market.
Business Development Manager – Barcelona
The Development team works on multiple projects across the full lifetime of a property, starting at identification and acquisition of strategically located properties and landbanks, over (re‑development) of those sites, leasing of new builds or repurposed assets. You will have the opportunity to combine your technical and commercial expertise in a flexible role depending on your interest, background and business’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Land sourcing by identifying potential sites for acquisition and development.
- Acting as a first contact with landlords and brokers, including feasibility study and offer submission;
- Acquisition process, conducting due diligence and negotiating purchase agreements;
- Product definition and design, supporting on the building design process ensuring maximal value creation based on the site and market specifics;
- Lead generation, deepening of current client relationships and extension of business networks with landlords, occupiers, authorities and many others;
- Commercialisation, successfully managing entire sales process : lead generations, client proposals, profitability analysis, respond to client queries, solution pitch, lease negotiations to closing of contracts.
- Liaise with local and regional authorities such as municipalities, provinces, environmental and sanitary agencies, along with energy and utility providers, with specific focus on town planning, permitting, environmental and remediation topics;
- Monitor the execution of urban development contracts and neighbouring agreements;
- Represent Goodman by attending meetings with the related representatives, brokers, customers, and others, either individually or in combination with other colleagues, to facilitate effective information crossflow, services coordination, problem resolution and informed decision making;
- Providing regular progress updates and accurate reporting.
Qualifications
Master degree in civil, building, industrial engineering, urban planning and architecture, or equivalent by experience5 years of experience in land sourcing and land due diligence, preferably in the industrial and / or retail real estate sectorAn excellent technical and risk management backgroundProfessional command of zoning, permitting, town planning, building and environmental regulations are also a must, as well as expert knowledge in site selection and verificationAbility to coordinate and work on several projects simultaneously during the initialization phaseStrong communication and negotiation skillsFluent in English, Spanish and Catalan (written and verbal)Job Details
