ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Database Migration Specialist, you will spearhead the transformation of cloud-based databases into high-performance, self-hosted solutions, delivering cost savings and stronger operational control. You’ll lead end-to-end migration strategies, optimize performance, and ensure robust security, while collaborating with a skilled, innovative team. This role offers a unique chance to shape critical infrastructure, expand expertise in PostgreSQL / MySQL, and make a lasting impact on system resilience and efficiency.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Plan & Assess : Audit current RDS setup, run cost analysis, define migration strategy, risk plan, and infra requirements;
• Build & Secure : Configure self-hosted DB servers, implement HA clustering / replication, harden security, and deploy monitoring / alerting with automated backups;
• Migrate & Validate : Execute zero-downtime migration, update app connections, verify data integrity, benchmark performance, and maintain rollback options;
• Document & Transfer : Deliver runbooks, dashboards, maintenance schedules, and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions with internal teams;
• Maintain & Support : Provide ongoing optimization, backup / DR validation, and performance monitoring post-migration.
