Overview
Global Banking APS-Application Support role at BNP Paribas CIB. Madrid based, part of the Spain IT Platform for EMEA. The team provides IT Services to clients ensuring a secure, performant environment and reliable quality, including Global Markets Application Production, Local Territory IT Development, Core Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, and Global Services elements.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and functional support to users on internal or 3rd party European applications
Manage technical and functional incidents and problems
Testing and cross checks
Interact with IT Production & ICP Support Teams
Incidents / Requests / Changes / Problems Management
Knowledge Transfer : build and update knowledge databases for incidents and processes; build expertise in other applications & technologies; train / mentor team members
Suggest and implement continuous improvements; organize incident reviews with APS peers; adapt to new applications or functionality
Automate processes for common tasks and reporting; improve monitoring
Ensure collaborative and clear communication within the team and with other IT teams and stakeholders; provide regular feedback to management; escalate when relevant
Plan, implement and document production workflows; coordinate testing with local business and central IT teams; support testing and acceptance of deliveries
Respond to functional incidents and requests for Business line enhancements; produce reporting documents
Production migrations and upgrades coordination; ensure high-quality user support for business lines
Assist in capacity, continuity, asset, and obsolescence management; support development project teams
Provide technical support during projects and UAT; document production requirements
Qualifications
Essential : >
5 years experience in production support activities; incidents / problem / change management
Ability to train / mentor team members and implement continuous improvements for automation and monitoring
Good communication and escalation skills; IT Continuity and Capacity Management
Asset & Obsolescence Management; support to development project teams; coordination capabilities
Planning, implementation and documentation of production workflows
Excellent command of English (written and spoken); adaptability and willingness to learn new products / technologies
Team player with multi-location, diverse cultural background experience
Analytical and troubleshooting abilities; ownership and resolution focus; ability to build cross-team relationships
Ability to manage high-pressure situations, prioritize, and multi-task; strong analytical and interpersonal skills

Windows and Unix / Linux
Application Servers : IIS, WebSphere, JBoss, Citrix
Databases : MS-SQL and Oracle
Scheduling : Autosys; PowerShell scripting
Monitoring : Dynatrace or equivalent
Ticketing : ITSM, Jira
Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote)
Optional : Python and Perl; Postgres; SAML 2.0, SSO; knowledge of payment systems; ITIL certifications
