Working Schedule : Our work schedule is generally Monday-Friday, however, due to the time-sensitive nature of our work, the ability to work on weekends as required is essential. All work will adhere to Spanish labor laws regarding rest periods and compensation.

The Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic laboratory at the Parc Científic de Barcelona. In this role, you will be an integral part of our daily laboratory operations, focusing on sample preparation and the execution of innovative sequencing protocols. You will thrive in our highly collaborative and international work environment, playing a crucial role in our mission to pioneer the future of immune health.
What You'll Do Ensure accurate and timely processing of production samples
Isolate cells from blood and other tissues to prepare cell suspensions
Perform nucleic acid isolation procedures and quality control (QC) analyses
Work safely and effectively in a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) environment
Prepare libraries and perform next-generation sequencing
Coordinate the submission of sequencing libraries and manage laboratory stocks
Maintain detailed and accurate records and reports using our electronic lab management system (LIMS)
Track and maintain an accurate inventory of reagents, consumables, and supplies
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and ensure the functionality of lab equipment
Stay up-to-date with relevant scientific literature to support our evolving protocols
Who You Are You hold a Bachelor's degree in biomedical or biological sciences, a Higher National Diploma (FP2), or an equivalent qualification demonstrating competence in molecular biology
You have extensive experience in molecular and cell biology techniques, including PBMC isolation, nucleic acid isolation, PCR, and related methods
You have significant experience working in a BSL2 environment and demonstrated expertise in human cell sample processing and biobanking
You are proficient in nucleic acid isolation and quality control, and have experience with next-generation sequencing library preparation
You have a strong foundation in biology, molecular biology, genetics, and immunology
You have a working knowledge of sequencing technologies and their applications
You have proven ability to implement new protocols and are familiar with laboratory health and safety regulations, including risk assessments
You are fluent in English, with excellent organization and communication skills
You are self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities
You are a strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to a positive work environment
You are proficient with Microsoft Office packages
