System Development Engineer, WW AMZL In House Controls

We are seeking System Development Engineers to join our In-House Controls team within World-Wide Central Engineering. This global role requires a dynamic individual ready to travel and lead the deployment of cutting-edge automation solutions across our international network. The ideal candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset, demonstrate Bias for Action, and be prepared to lead complex software development and implementation for automation systems.

Basic Qualifications :

• Professional software development experience (non-internship)
• Experience with designing and creating architecture for scalable systems using modern design patterns
• Proficiency in at least one programming language
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities for complex systems
• Excellent communication skills across diverse cultural contexts
• Experience with IEC 61131-3 Structured Text programming language

About the team

Our In-House Controls (IHC) team within World-Wide Central Engineering develops, deploys, and scales automated solutions globally. We deliver pioneering solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing and new facilities worldwide. IHC will develop and deploy the software for all future WW AMZL automation, from software design through to commissioning and deployment and operational on-call support.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or equivalent, along with relevant non-internship professional software / system development experience, programming skills in at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby, experience in systems design, software development, operations, automation, process improvement, and PLC programming.

Additional desired skills include experience with CODESYS, building tools for building, testing, releasing, or monitoring, and knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems). Experience designing or architecting systems with design patterns, reliability, and scaling is also valued.
