We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join our remote, international team.

Job Description

We seek a Technical Sales Engineer with strong communication skills and cloud industry understanding to support our growth. Responsibilities include presales activities, prospect qualification, product demos, RFQ / RFP responses, PoC ownership, and product evaluations. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, curious about technological possibilities, problem-solver, and customer-focused.

You will collaborate across product development, sales, marketing, and customer relations, understanding customer needs, observing behaviors, and anticipating future requirements for product development.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare presentations, demos, use cases, solutions, and discussions about OpenNebula.
  • Present and demonstrate OpenNebula at events.
  • Engage customers through solution positioning and RFQ / RFP responses, emphasizing features and business value.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand current cloud deployments, challenges, and future goals.
  • Qualify business and technical fit between prospects and OpenNebula offerings.
  • Design and oversee PoCs with OpenNebula.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and competitors.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key accounts.

Experience Required

  • 3+ years as a Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Presales Engineer, or similar.
  • 3+ years in IT / cloud environments.
  • Experience responding to RFPs / RFIs and managing PoCs.
  • Experience with global customers.
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Analytical skills to understand client demands.
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s in CS, IT, or Engineering.
  • Advanced Linux administration (RHEL / AlmaLinux, Ubuntu / Debian).
  • Experience with virtualization (KVM, LXC, libvirt / QEMU, VMware).
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Experience with other cloud management platforms preferred.
