Overview
Senior Mission Control Systems Engineer
Taking on a key role in the design and operation of space mission control systems, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to support the definition, development, and integration of complex mission operations infrastructure for next-generation space programs.
Responsibilities
Analyze and perform trade-offs on Ground Segment requirements, with flow-down to Mission Control Systems (MCS) and Supervision systems.
Define Mission & Control requirements for both space infrastructure and service layers.
Design the high-level software architecture for space mission operations and control.
Supervision, telemetry, and reporting systems.
Define implementation and testing strategies for MCS-related software subsystems.
Provide technical oversight to subcontractors regarding architecture and design reviews, requirements compliance, and development and validation processes.
Support the integration of subcontracted components into the full Ground Segment system.
During operations, act as the technical point of contact for anomaly resolution and mission-critical troubleshooting.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Mission Control Systems, Ground Segment software, or similar roles.
Strong knowledge of Linux OS fundamentals.
Networking and distributed systems.
Virtualization and cloud platforms.
Experience in satellite communications and mission operations.
Background in technology project management.
Familiarity with ESA environments and tools is a plus.
EU nationality and willingness to undergo EU Secret Clearance.
Fluent in English (written and spoken); any other European language is an asset.
