Your impact at MUFG
As an Associate / Relationship Manager GCIB, you will be a member of the front office team. Your main role is to pro-actively contribute to the management of customer relationships, respond to customer enquiries, and support related tasks and activities. You will interact with clients, attend onsite visits, banker meetings, conferences and seminars. You will work with internal and external stakeholders on high-profile transactions in EMEA and globally. The GCIB team coordinates with Product Partners (e.g., Capital Markets, Structured Finance, Transaction Banking) and regional / local relationship managers across MUFG. There is potential to have full relationship management responsibility for a portfolio of clients.
Role responsibilities
- Support Senior Bankers in all aspects of group client management : business development, pipeline reporting, operational tasks, fee and asset management, and internal reporting and marketing activities.
- Work with Credit, Risk, and Compliance to collect required legal documents and meet regulatory and internal policies.
- Act as a subject matter expert in know your customer (KYC) and required legal documents.
- Provide input into pre-screenings, application preparation and submission : business rationale, returns, facility structure, and more.
- Assist in execution of transactions, including facility documentation review.
- Prepare presentations and pitches.
- Support MUFG’s ESG / Sustainable Financing objectives.
- Assist in marketing the MUFG Global Network to clients, coordinating with network offices in 50 countries.
- Ensure all control requirements are met in a timely manner (CRM Tool, KYC, Compliance, monthly follow-up sheets, covenants monitoring, application due dates, outstanding conditions, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with the Bank’s rules, policies, procedures and guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and skills
University degree in Business Administration / Economics / Law / Engineering; specialized masters valued.At least 3 years of experience in a similar function or relevant area.Knowledge of departmental workflows and processes, front-office products, and applicable laws and regulations.Knowledge and experience with bank credit and market risk policies and guidelines.Experience with automated databases and desktop IT skills.Excellent verbal and written English and Spanish; Portuguese and Italian are valued.Commitment to ongoing learning and staying up-to-date with internal / external education.Personal attributes
