Senior Process Safety Consultant

Qualifications and Requirements Academic background

Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.

Additional training

Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention.

Professional experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in process safety, either in a plant environment or as a consultant.

Soft skills

Strong communication skills. Previous experience as a trainer will be valued.

Languages

High level of English (spoken and written) – minimum C1.

Key Responsibilities As a Process Safety Consultant, your main responsibilities will include :

Performing Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies : HAZID, HAZOP, What-if, LOPA.

Functional Safety studies : Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).

Quantitative risk analysis and consequence modeling.

ATEX studies (zoning classification, risk evaluation, Explosion Protection Document - DPCE).

Safety Management Systems (PSM).

Sector focus : Oil & Gas and other process industries.

The role involves organizing and attending meetings, as well as traveling to DEKRA and client locations, both within Spain and internationally.

Main Areas of Expertise Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) : HAZOP, What-if, FMEA...

Functional safety : SIL allocation and verification.

Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA).

Risk identification and assessment in chemical processes.

Emergency relief system calculations.

Electrostatics.

Accident investigations.

Laboratory testing of physico-chemical properties (gases and dust).

Bench-scale testing of chemical reactions.

ATEX : Explosion Protection Document, equipment certification, zone classification, site inspections.
