Overview
At Boomerang, we are seeking a Managing Director Sales for a manufacturing company. This position holds full responsibility for the sales and marketing functions and plays a key role in developing and implementing sales strategies aligned with the group’s objectives.
Responsibilities
- Maximize revenue by identifying new business opportunities and nurturing existing client relationships.
- Expand the company’s market presence in Spain and internationally through new product launches and strategic partnerships.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction to build long-term loyalty.
- Manage the sales budget, control costs, and drive profitable growth.
- Monitor sales performance metrics, refine strategies based on outcomes, and foster a culture of innovation to optimize processes and strengthen competitiveness.
- Operational tasks : implement the corporate strategy; comply with and develop the corporate philosophy (values, code of business, etc.); manage and develop the area of responsibility; increase efficiency and profitability; prepare and adhere to the budget and key figures; authorize requisitions as defined; ensure occupational safety, fire safety, information security and data protection for the division and subordinate staff.
- Function-related tasks : achieve defined sales targets; oversee the Iberian region (Spain, Portugal) and international exports; identify market potential and competitive developments; manage all sales activities to open new markets; develop long-term relationships with key customers; coordinate and support sales teams; optimize sales processes in national and international markets; personnel responsibility for the sales team including coaching and performance management.
- Scale and optimize incoming orders; ensure profitable transactions through targeted pricing and sales measures; introduce and improve digital sales and CRM systems; coordinate with product management, marketing and production to optimize the portfolio and market strategy; represent the company at trade fairs and events.
- Ensure efficient budget utilization and a sales strategy that conserves resources; grow the product portfolio of multiple brands within the region and meet growth targets for each brand.
- Management tasks : lead with a cooperative and appreciative style; proactively shape team development and employee coaching; conduct employee appraisals in collaboration with HR; recruit, develop, transfer, and manage staff in accordance with legal and internal regulations.
Qualifications
Successfully completed studies with a commercial or technical background or comparable professional training with relevant experience.Many years of management experience in national and international sales, ideally in tools, machines or technical capital goods.Experience managing diverse and extensive product portfolios (thousands of SKUs) with technical complexity.Ability to develop and implement sales strategies focused on growth and profitability; experience in building and maintaining long-term customer relationships and key accounts.Strong track record in B2B multi-step distribution channels and multi-brand sales; ability to navigate distributor networks.Knowledge of modern CRM systems, e-commerce and digital sales strategies.Understanding of key business figures (EBIT, sales, margin, orders) to manage the business; experience in international market development and sales partnerships.Ability to negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers and partners; proficient in MS Office.Fluent Spanish and business-fluent English (both oral and written); strong communication skills in English are essential. Other languages are advantageous.Ability to adapt to dynamic, competitive industries and lead teams through long-term business development cycles.Personality and Leadership
