IE University's Finance & Control department is looking for an Associate Manager to join its team. The position reports to the Senior Control Manager and involves operating control data, supporting the annual budget process, preparing control statements and reports, and communicating information within the institution’s control duties. The role plays an integral part in the production and reporting of information within the Finance & Control department. This is a full-time position based in Madrid, IE Tower.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial analysis, forecasts, and presentations to support decision-making.
- Prepare profitability reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for business units.
- Support the annual budgeting process based on business inputs.
- Analyse differences between budget and actual results.
- Perform ad-hoc business analysis to spot trends, gaps, or improvements.
- Work closely with business teams to explain results and support strategic actions.
- Maintain up-to-date forecasts to help with better planning.
- Create dashboards and improve reports for management visibility.
- Ensure financial data is accurate, clear, and delivered on time.
- Look for ways to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
- Keep control systems and processes effective and updated.
- Prepare clear financial statements and written reports.
- Work with control and systems teams to improve automation and processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.Master’s degree in Management, Accounting or related field or experience with accounting firms is desired.Previous experience in Big Four is desirable.Fluency and proficiency in professional English and Spanish.Minimum three years of experience.Knowledge of control / business analysis techniques and generally accepted accounting practice.Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.Experience with ERP (Microsoft Dynamics or other financial reporting tools) is required.Experience in data management and big data tools, analytics and control will be considered.Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.Organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.Ability to communicate with internal clients and train staff, organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.Position details
