GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Investment Analysis M&A team provides strategic valuation support to OW Senior Management as well as leading the execution of acquisition and divestment processes of the Joint Venture. It ensures that OW projects comply with Shareholders Investment criteria and actively discusses and updates the discount rates and relevant Investment criteria. The M&A Associate will support the team Managers with special focus on financial modelling and analysis as well as supporting junior team members (M&A Specialist).

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform financial modelling and investment analysis to support the M&A Manager and Bid Structuring team in competitive tender processes.
  • Perform investment analysis to support the Technical and Procurement teams in the assessment of technical solutions being considered for projects.
  • Support M&A transactions (both buy-side and sell-side) including the financial modelling and coordination of due diligence processes involving internal teams and external advisors where applicable.
  • Support the internal approval process preparing the investment files for presentation to OW’s Managements Committee and its sponsors
  • Develop and document valuation and modelling best practices.
  • Guidance and training to junior team members

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in financial modelling and conducting investment analysis (preferably in the renewable energy sector) at a developer, fund, bank or financial advisory firm (modelling or Project Finance department of a Big Four).
  • Experience in developing and utilising complex financial models with project financing
  • Knowledge of valuation methodologies and techniques.
  • Understanding of financial statements (P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet), tax and corporate structures.
  • Skills and General Capabilities

  • Strong analytical skills, capability to drive insights from complex models.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to summarise complex investment cases.
  • Well organised and structured thinking. Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Econmics, Accounting or Engineering.
  • Languages

  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Other languages are an advantage.
