We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Specialist in Protection and Control of High Voltage Electrical Substations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, specification, supervision of installation, and commissioning of protection and control systems according to the company's high-quality standards.

Location : Madrid, Hybrid

Main Responsibilities :

• Develop and / or review basic and detailed engineering designs for protection and control of high-voltage substations.
• Perform and / or review protection selectivity studies and short-circuit studies.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications for the acquisition of protections, ensuring specific project requirements.
• Participate in the technical evaluation of bids from suppliers of protection and control systems.
• Supervise and coordinate the manufacturing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), installation, and commissioning phases of the equipment.
• Manage the technical interface with suppliers, contractors, and other departments involved in the project.
• Lead or actively participate in on-site acceptance tests (SAT).
• Resolve technical problems that arise during installation and commissioning.

Qualifications and Experience :

• Education : University Degree in Electrical Engineering. Specialization or Master's degree in Power Electrical Systems or High Voltage will be positively valued.
• Experience :
• Minimum of 7 years of demonstrable experience in the design, specification, and / or review of protection and control systems for transmission electrical substations (220KV or higher).
• Verifiable experience with protections from top-tier manufacturers : SEL, Siemens, ABB, GE.
• Experience in interpreting electrical drawings and control diagrams.
• Experience in substation commissioning will be valued.
• Technical Knowledge :
• Familiarity with relevant international (IEC, IEEE) and local technical standards.
• Knowledge of electrical design and simulation software (e.g., ETAP, DigSILENT PowerFactory, AutoCAD Electrical).
• Skills :
• Excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and precise technical reports.
• Languages : B2 / C1 English. The usual working language is English.
• Availability to travel abroad based on project demands.
