Senior Accountant

Location : Madrid, Spain

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Hybrid Work Model

As a Senior Accountant , you will be part of a local, collaborative accounting team. You will work under the supervision of the Business Unit Manager and be responsible for the accounting of client companies within your assigned portfolio, with a focus on a specific client sector, as well as overseeing junior roles.

Some of your responsibilities will include :

Accounting, reporting, and the creation and issuance of invoices for various companies

Bank reconciliations, preparation and submission of tax filings and SII, preparation and review of annual accounts

Corporate and accounting services

Preparation of all types of accounts, payments, cash flow, reports, financial statements, cash position, and tax position for client companies

Preparation of regulatory reports for third parties

Bookkeeping of journal entries and related supporting documentation

Support during audits by providing relevant information

Lead, review, and execute clients' financial administration

Cash flow monitoring : analyze and reconcile cash flow movements and review responses / evidence regarding inconsistencies and data-backed findings

Preparation and review of the conversion of financial statements from other GAAP to Spanish GAAP (SP GAAP) or vice versa

Reconciliation of approved investments, purchase documents, etc., with cash movements

Prepare and review cash management, including bank account administration and payment instructions

Prepare consolidated financial statements

Collect accounting information for tax returns and prepare tax filing documents for STA

Analyze, review, and submit various tax returns

Review, inspect, and analyze different tax declarations

Manage the team’s workload, monitor team members’ quality and output

Provide training to team members

Prepare and review financial reports for clients, such as periodic balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and annual accounts

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

Minimum of 6 years of work experience in a similar role, preferably in a multi-client company

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration

Strong command of English to communicate fluently with clients (B2 / C1 level)

Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment are essential

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects / tasks, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure

A proactive approach to daily tasks and a team-oriented attitude

Willingness to work with different cultures
