Chief Winemaker

Responsibilities

• Oversee all winemaking decisions from end to end, and accountable for wine quality perceived in reviews, wine shows and accolades
• Assist with vineyard operations and viticultural plans, providing hands-on support as needed by the viticulturist
• Organize bottling and packaging
• Shipment logistics and inventory management
• Wine production costing, including winery, vineyard and bottling
• Ensure product architecture aligns with overall brand strategy, philosophy and business direction, in conjunction with operations / sales staff
• Represent and develop the brand in events (dinners, tastings, media, etc.) with a focus on building customer base and brand awareness among retail consumers
• Create and sustain relationships with wholesale customers to ensure ongoing brand representation and to build and maintain brand reputation
• Minimum 8-10 years of commercial winemaking experience required
