Overview RISK ESG is a transversal team that aims at supporting and steering the integration of ESG risk factors within the Group’s risk management framework. The Credit & Sustainable Finance team is responsible for credit-related matters and processes requiring embedding ESG factors across the Group’s various métiers / poles and for all corporate clients and financial institutions. As part of the second line of defense, the team designs and ensures the sound functioning of the ESG risk management framework and establishes setups to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report on ESG-related performance and risks through the client journey.
Responsibilities Within the RISK ESG Team, the Credit & Sustainable Finance team sets up ESG-related frameworks in coordination with Business Lines and other functions and ensures their effective implementation in operational processes, particularly in credit processes. Responsibilities include :
ESG assessment at the Counterparty level : deploying suitable ESG assessment methodologies in operational processes to inform product offers and risk appetite
ESG assessment at the transaction level : defining articulation criteria for transaction-level ESG assessment and integrating it into the credit process, notably for ESG-tagged transactions
Monitoring and controls linked to ESG in the credit chain : ensuring ESG matters are monitored and appropriate credit controls are in place
The team is responsible for producing and contributing to :
ESG frameworks or set-ups (design / enhancement of ESG assessments, ESG labels / tags, operational insertion, etc.)
Policies, procedures and guidelines related to ESG & credit topics, ensuring they are comprehensive and up-to-date, and coordinating with Risk and Business Lines
Analyses and challenge of assessment results, dashboards, and articulation with other ESG evaluations; participation in Risk committees / forums to share information
Analyses / communications for internal reporting up to top management and external publications (e.g., CSRD) on ESG assessment, sustainable finance, and credit-related topics
The ESG Analyst will report to the Head of the Credit & Sustainable Finance team within RISK ESG Paris, with a local reporting line to the RISK ESG Team Leader in Madrid.
Requirements Knowledge At least 7 years of experience in the financial industry, preferably in corporate banking or audit
Knowledge in corporate credit analysis
Knowledge of the credit process and related operational credit processes
Knowledge in ESG would be a plus
French is a plus
