The Role

This global role will shape Moderna’s customs operations landscape. As the SME, you will lead the optimization and governance of customs-related processes across regions, focusing on standardization, efficiency, compliance, and automation. You will oversee global brokerage, support trade decisions, and guide digital solutions deployment like SAP GTS. This hands-on position requires collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure trade compliance and agile operations globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the optimization and execution of global customs processes.
  • Develop and deploy global SOPs for import / export and customs clearance.
  • Manage customs brokerage performance, SLAs, and continuous improvements.
  • Oversee customs clearance activities, resolving delays and operational issues.
  • Drive process automation in classification, valuation, and origin determination.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Act as SME for global customs operations, supporting Trade Compliance.
  • Lead digital trade compliance initiatives, including SAP GTS and broker workflows.
  • Evaluate tariff impacts for sourcing, supply chain, and planning decisions.
  • Implement Importer of Record (IOR) capabilities in new markets.
  • Collaborate with Logistics, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, and Finance teams.
  • Travel internationally for reviews, audits, or system deployments.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, or related.
  • 10+ years in trade compliance with customs process expertise.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing global customs and broker networks.
  • Deep knowledge of customs regulations and documentation.
  • Success in process optimization in regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with SAP GTS or similar systems.
  • Cross-functional influence and change management skills.
  • Excellent English communication.
  • Strong decision-making under pressure.
