Responsibilities
- Level Creation & Optimization : Design, balance, and test new levels to ensure engaging gameplay and smooth difficulty progression.
- Data-Driven Design : Analyze player data to identify pain points, optimize underperforming levels, and improve key performance metrics like retention and engagement.
- Innovation : Develop and implement new level mechanics or twists to keep gameplay fresh and exciting.
- Strategic Planning : Contribute to the overall vision of level design, including evolving levels, introducing new types, and strategically planning their placement within the player journey.
- Collaboration : Work closely with product, QA, art, economy, and business analytics teams to align levels with the game’s goals and vision.
- Tools & Efficiency : Improve level design tools and workflows to enhance team efficiency and quality output.
- Prototyping : Create prototypes for new mechanics and gameplay ideas to test their viability before full implementation.
- Ownership of Key Projects : Take responsibility for initiatives such as redesigning a level funnel, developing content for events or features, and implementing new gameplay mechanics (e.g., power-ups or obstacles).
- Quality Assurance : Review and maintain the quality of levels created by the team, ensuring a consistently high standard.
- Industry Awareness : Stay up-to-date on level design best practices, industry trends, and competitor analysis to continually evolve our design approach.
Requirements
Proven experience in level design, preferably within the casual or mobile gaming space.Strong understanding of level design concepts, difficulty curves, and player psychology.Ability to balance and optimize levels using player data and analytics.Experience with introducing and iterating on new mechanics and gameplay twists.Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams.Proactive and independent, with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.Nice-to-Have
Experience with improving pipelines or workflows for level design.Proficiency with Unity Engine and level design tools.Knowledge of economy systems or user experience optimization in games.A passion for casual games and a solid understanding of the solitaire genre.Ability to create prototypes for new mechanics and gameplay ideas.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
