About the role

As our Field Operations Specialist at Kyoto, you will play a critical role in supporting and developing Kyoto’s operational site organisation. Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting, process stabilisation and optimisation, preventive maintenance, and operator training across multiple Heatcube sites. This role requires a hands-on, problem-solving approach to ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency. Frequent travelling is expected.
Responsibilities
- Promote a zero-injury culture, ensuring adherence to Kyoto’s safety regulations, service manuals, and operational guidelines.
- Contact with customers regarding completed and upcoming service and repairs.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems.
- Lead remote and on-site monitoring through the SCADA system to diagnose issues, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize performance across multiple sites.
- Act as an expert in your field, training and mentoring on-site operators and technicians.
- Perform first-line troubleshooting and escalate critical failures beyond site capabilities to Kyoto’s support team.
- Friction-less operation of our Heatcubes and use of our systems like condition monitoring and remote control.
- Be part of 24 / 7 Support organisation with Duty Phone responsibility.
- Work according to Kyoto's service manuals and guidelines, ensuring all safety regulations are followed and that the site maintains a zero-injury goal.
- Support the expansion and commissioning of new Heatcube sites, ensuring a smooth transition to full operation.
Required skills & experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other relevant technical education, and / or. Machinist preferably from Ships and Offshore Platforms.Boiler Operator certificate.Experience in mechanical, electrical, and pressurized systems, including heat exchangers, instrumentation and control systems.Experience with SCADA control systems, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting for operational efficiency and real-time data exchange.Hands-on experience in first-line maintenance, fault diagnosis, and system optimization in industrial environments.Proven ability to work autonomously, handling technical challenges in remote or high-pressure settings.Experience in HSE compliance, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures.Experienced training and mentoring technical and operational staff.Ability to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and emergency response planning in industrial environments.Who are you?
