Housekeeping Manager Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Housekeeping Manager to lead our onboard housekeeping function. As Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities.
Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate, schedule, and supervise the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping team, encompassing staterooms, public areas, and open decks.
- Collaborate with the Housekeeping Director to manage the team and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
- Direct, coach, and evaluate staff performance to maintain high-quality standards.
- Develop, observe, and evaluate work procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
- Perform daily meetings with staff to review changes and / or revisions to programming based on itinerary, weather conditions, demographics, etc.
- Respond to guest concerns in a considerate, professional, and positive manner by showing empathy and listening actively.
- Aware of and / or acquire knowledge to follow the ship's standard operations, aid guests, and crewmembers with inquiries.
- Responsible for conducting 10 stateroom inspections daily and one stateroom in each section during embarkation day.
- Attend meetings, training activities, courses, and all other work-related activities as needed.
- Responsible for sanitation logs, SQM logs, and achieving set ratings / targets.
Job Requirements
One to two years of housekeeping supervisory experience in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise line (shipboard experience preferred).Minimum one to two years of previous cleaning experience, preferably in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise line (shipboard experience preferred).Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and equipment usage.Knowledge of chemical handling.Excellent management, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.Working knowledge of computers, Internet access, and software packages such as Excel, Word, or related programs.What We Offer
