Overview
VP of Portfolio Management role at ING Hubs Spain within the Lending Team of Wholesale Banking. The role focuses on actively managing the Spain & Portugal lending portfolio and optimizing returns through analytics and capital velocity. The portfolio spans Real Estate Finance, Energy, Infra, Telecommunications, and Acquisition Finance, with emphasis on project finance in Energy & Infrastructure. Collaboration with Transaction Management, Capital Markets & Advisory, Risk, Global Credit Restructuring, Legal and back-office / support teams is required, with a focus on regulatory readiness, operational effectiveness and portfolio optimization.
Responsibilities
- Actively manage all facets of the files in your dedicated portfolio, including quarterly and annual credit reviews, amendments and waivers, and coordinating the credit approval process with financial analysis, cash-flow modelling, sensitivity analysis and risk Q&A;
manage required legal amendments until execution.
Review annual risk rating updates, anticipate potential risk migration;conduct diligent creditmonitoring through covenant reviews and operating performance analysis.
Assess deal components related to product topics (including initial Leveraged Transaction assessment) and identify and resolve Early Warning Signals, Unlikely to Pay, Forbearance and Default indicators.Monitor market developments and assess potential impacts on the portfolio by preparing regulator and internal reports, quarterly CRM portfolio reviews, maintaining databases and internal tracking metrics, and coordinating with offshore portfolio support teams;manage lending limits and Capital Velocity programs.
Engage with Virtual Client Teams by interfacing with relationship managers and sector specialists to discuss credit trends, challenges and opportunities;contribute to cross-buyor client opportunity ideas.
Promote operational excellence by staying up to date on policies and procedures (Risk, Legal, etc.), supporting strategic initiatives to improve credit monitoring efficiency, identifying productivity trends, supporting transformation projects and coaching junior colleagues;contribute to data quality monitoring and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
University degree in business, economics, engineering or related discipline;CFA and / or MBA a plus.
5+ years of relevant experience in structuring Project Finance deals, preferably in the Energy sector, in an international environment.Competencies
