Hartmann Young is partnering with a leading global innovator in the nutraceutical and dietary supplement industry. Our client is dedicated to improving global health and wellness through science-backed, premium-quality ingredients and formulations. They seek an experienced Category Manager to join their European team — a strategic and commercially minded professional with a proven track record in the dietary supplements sector (not food or beverage).
As Category Manager , you will take ownership of the Dietary Supplements category across Europe, driving commercial strategy, portfolio management, and market growth. You will align innovation, marketing, and sales strategies to ensure continued leadership and expansion within the supplements space.
This position requires a strong technical understanding of dietary supplement formulations, ingredients, and regulatory considerations . You will engage with customers, translating technical details into commercial insights and helping clients make informed product and strategy decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and execution of the Dietary Supplements category across the European market.
- Leverage technical expertise to engage in informed client discussions, explaining formulation concepts, ingredient benefits, and market applications in a clear, credible way.
- Analyze market data, consumer trends, and competitive landscapes to identify new business opportunities.
- Manage product portfolios and drive end-to-end lifecycle management, from concept to launch and beyond.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, R&D, and Marketing to optimise product positioning and innovation strategy.
- Develop and implement pricing, promotion, and channel strategies to maximise category profitability.
- Deliver clear, data-driven insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory and market developments impacting the supplement category.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in category management, product management, or commercial strategy within the dietary supplements or nutraceutical industry.Demonstrated success in managing and growing supplement product portfolios.Strong technical knowledge of dietary supplement ingredients, formulations, and regulatory environments, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.Deep understanding of European supplement markets, trends, and consumer behaviours.Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Nutrition, Food Technology, or a related discipline.Please note : This position requires exclusive experience within dietary supplements. Applicants from food, beverage, or general FMCG backgrounds will not be considered.
