The Role

Telgorithm is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems that power applications, ensuring robustness, performance, and security. As an engineer in a startup without strict enterprise processes, you will be independent from day one — not working solo, but taking initiative and being motivated to deliver results. You should be comfortable working on large tasks collaboratively, conducting and receiving peer reviews (PRs), and able to quickly pivot to urgent tasks and evolving business needs.

Location and Language : This is a remote position for which we are accepting applicants in Europe and nearby time zones with preference for candidates in : the European Union (excluding Germany), Serbia, and Poland. All candidates must be able to provide proof of identity and work authorization to work as a contractor in their country of residence. Telgorithm is based in the United States and English is the primary language used at work. Proficiency with Russian is required because we have a Russian-speaking development team.

What you\'ll do

• First Week : Set up time to get to know our remote, distributed team. Familiarize yourself with Telgorithm\'s business goals, our product, and our industry (including the complex compliance and regulatory environment).
• First Month : Participate in code reviews and discuss architecture and implementation details with peers. Collaborate with issue reporters or stakeholders to clarify requirements. Work closely with QA to support testing, fix bugs, and answer questions. Resolve production issues by analyzing logs, metrics, traces, and alerts.
• First Six Months : Model complex domain rules and processes by writing maintainable, testable, robust, and performant code. Implement observability with logs, metrics, and alert criteria. Decompose tasks and plan work to ensure timely delivery with minimal risks. Collaborate with Customer Success to resolve customer issues. Analyze and enhance system performance and identify bottlenecks, optimizing processes and making gradual architectural changes. Solve complex technical challenges by learning new technologies and continuously improving systems.
• First Year : Help build a product that solves must-have needs, drive new logo sales, and secure renewals based on value delivered to end users. Adapt to rapid and frequent changes in a startup environment.
