Technical IT / OT Manager

PURPOSE OF JOB ROLE :

The Site Tech Manager collaborates with the site team and other functions to build local capability and drive measurable value from existing and new innovative tech at the site.

The role is accountable for ensuring all site Tech systems are available, secure, and compliant with standards. Manages internal and external Tech providers against expected service levels.

The role :

Responsible for site-level implementation of foundational, advanced, and digital Tech solutions to support and drive improvement in site safety, service, cost, and quality KPIs.

Collaborates with other functions to ensure IT / OT networks remain secure and compliant with standards.

Champions site adoption and use of Data Analytics capabilities to drive performance improvement and collaborates with the site team to deliver increased value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Collaborates and agrees with the site senior leadership team (SLT) on priorities for key Tech projects and strategy for the site over multiple years. Benchmarks with other sites and externally within the industry.
• Manages the local Tech team in the delivery of foundational, advanced, and innovation projects relating to Tech to maximize value for the site, working within an agile, value-driven methodology.
• Champions Tech capability building across all site teams through a range of learning resources and hands-on user training. Works with SLT to identify and resolve any capability gaps.
• Acts as site Tech subject matter expert (SME), maintaining and sharing deep site Tech expertise and knowledge, and facilitates input when appropriate from other internal and external subject matter experts.
• Leads cross-functional teams at the site to deliver value through Tech-led projects.
• Builds internal and external collaboration with local Tech vendors, universities, and other companies to stay current with the latest Tech and industry trends.
• Drives ongoing processes to ensure site Tech remains secure and minimizes vulnerability risks.
• Manages the site Tech budget and resources.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum Level of Education : Graduate in Science / Engineering / Computing or similar vocational qualification in a technical discipline.

Area of Specialisation : Computing, Networking, Security, Engineering, Applications Software.
