Overview We're seeking a skilled Regulatory Compliance and Liaison Specialist to join our team.
This critical role involves evaluating regulatory compliance, developing strategies for transposing laws and regulations, and drafting legal documents.
Responsibilities Evaluating the regulatory compliance of security policies and procedures and assessing the impact of legal and regulatory changes.
Developing strategies to transpose laws and regulations into management systems.
Drafting, proofreading, and preparing legal documents related to security topics.
Developing and strengthening relationships with government officials and industry associations to influence legislation and regulatory decisions.
Researching and understanding government policies, regulations, and laws related to security topics.
Additional tasks Assisting in resolving conflicts between laws, regulations, policies, and standards or procedures.
Developing and proposing staff awareness training to achieve compliance and foster a product security culture within the organization.
Performing other legal support tasks as required.
Attending meetings and hearings with legislators and regulators.
Requirements A second-level university degree in law or international relations, preferably with a focus on cybersecurity.
Cybersecurity certifications or trainings are desirable.
Understanding of business strategy, models, and products, and ability to factor into legal, regulatory, and standards requirements.
Knowledge of cybersecurity laws and regulations.
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and best practices.
Knowledge of government and political processes.
Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
Ability to craft persuasive arguments and mobilize support.
Ability to work independently.
