Data Engineer - SQL Server ( •)

At Plukon Food Group, we are looking for a Data / SQL Performance Engineer to support the development and optimization of our data-driven applications. Our international organization continues to grow, and ensuring high-performing and scalable data solutions is key to our success.

As a Data / SQL Performance Engineer, you focus on designing, developing, and fine-tuning complex SQL queries and data models to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability. You will play a crucial role in supporting data access across systems and improving the performance of business-critical applications.

Designing and implementing advanced SQL queries, including CTEs, window functions, and complex aggregations.

Optimizing existing queries and database structures using indexing, partitioning, and other tuning techniques.

Developing and maintaining reusable query patterns and templates for consistent and efficient data access.

Collaborating with application developers to ensure data models align with business and frontend requirements.

Ensuring data integrity, quality, and consistency across multiple environments.

Documenting query logic, data flows, and optimization strategies for internal knowledge sharing.

HBO or WO work and thinking level with a completed education, preferably in IT, data engineering, or a related technical field.

Strong expertise in PostgreSQL (or other advanced relational databases).

Proven experience with SQL query optimization and database performance tuning.

Solid understanding of data modeling (hierarchical data, attributes, relationships).

Hands-on experience with query debugging tools and execution plan analysis.

Ability to translate complex business requirements into efficient data structures.

Experience working in ERP, BI, or other data-intensive environments.

Knowledge of API-based integrations (REST / JSON) is a plus.

Familiarity with low-code / no-code environments and how they consume data is an advantage.

Exposure to DevOps practices (version control, deployment in multi-environment setups) is beneficial.

Experience with international and multi-language data handling is a plus.
