Process Engineering Manager

Overview

The GaN Technology Manager role is a key position that oversees the development, integration, and production of GaN-based technologies within a photonic device manufacturing environment. This leadership role defines strategic technology directions, drives innovation in materials and processes, and ensures projects align with business objectives while meeting the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, scale-up, and optimization of GaN-based photonic components (e.G., lasers, photodetectors, high-speed transistors).
• Define and execute technology and product roadmaps aligned with market trends and customer requirements.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of GaN technologies, from concept through industrialization and customer delivery.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration between R&D, process engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
• Identify and implement innovations to improve performance, yield, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Oversee risk management strategies for technology, process, and supply chain.
• Mentor, develop, and evaluate engineering and technical teams.
• Represent the organization as a technical ambassador at conferences, industry events, and with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards for compound semiconductor production.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a PhD or Master\ 's in Engineering, Applied Physics, Photonics, Materials Science, Optoelectronics, or related field. Additionally, they should have 10+ years of industrial experience in compound semiconductor manufacturing or R&D, with proven expertise in GaN technology.
