The Programmatic Campaign Specialist is responsible for flawless, large-scale campaign execution across multiple programmatic platforms. This is a senior operational role focused entirely on execution—not client contact—and requires someone capable of managing 50+ campaigns simultaneously with precision, speed, and strategic insight.
This specialist owns every stage of campaign operations : pre-launch readiness, in-flight optimization, ongoing monitoring, and performance reporting. They also bring experience from both the buy-side and sell-side, understanding how agencies activate campaigns, what drives buyer behaviour, and how publisher setups can be optimized accordingly.
Curation experience and deep knowledge of GAM and Xandr are strong advantages.
Purpose of the Role
To ensure that programmatic campaigns launch flawlessly, run smoothly, and exceed performance expectations, while removing operational workload from Sales and Account Management. The role blends operational excellence with strategic insight and a deep understanding of both supply and demand dynamics.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Pre-Campaign Readiness & Launch Excellence
Own all pre-launch preparation across multiple platforms (GAM, Xandr, DSPs, SSPs).
Ensure every campaign is launch‐ready : assets validated, trackers implemented, setups QA'd, KPIs clear.
Maintain a structured pre-launch checklist to avoid errors and guarantee punctual, polished launches.
Validate audience targeting, pacing logic, integrations, budget distribution, and technical tracking.
Align internally to secure best‐in‐class launch quality from day one.
2. Campaign Execution, Monitoring & Optimization
Manage 50+ simultaneous campaigns across multiple programmatic platforms with full ownership.
Monitor delivery, pacing, and performance daily; troubleshoot proactively.
Apply both buy‐side and sell‐side thinking (buyer value vs. publisher monetization).
Use insights to rotate creatives, adjust targeting, optimize bids, and improve segmentation.
Diagnose anomalies and implement corrective actions immediately.
3. Sales Support Through Operational Excellence
Take full ownership of execution, allowing Sales to focus on revenue and growth.
Create templated briefs, material requests, and spec sheets to streamline processes.
Communicate clearly, concisely, and with urgency.
4. Reporting & Performance Insights
Produce reports that tell a clear story : what worked, what didn't, why, and next steps.
Highlight top‐performing creatives, audiences, formats, and placements.
Provide preemptive explanations for delivery issues or KPI shifts—no surprises.
Present results visually and strategically, aligned with business goals.
5. Process Innovation, Automation & Tooling
Build and refine workflows that increase speed and reduce manual tasks.
Test new curation workflows, optimization tactics, and platform tools.
Create reusable templates for reporting, QA, setup, and optimization.
6. Documentation, Knowledge Sharing & Internal Enablement
Maintain documentation of campaign best practices and troubleshooting guides.
Share learnings to elevate consistency and operational excellence across teams.
Support internal onboarding with clear training materials.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 4+ years in programmatic advertising, campaign operations, or performance marketing.
Demonstrated ability to manage 50+ active campaigns across multiple platforms.
Hands‐on expertise in GAM and Xandr — mandatory.
Experience on both buy‐side and sell‐side (agency activation + publisher operations).
Curation experience or familiarity with curated marketplaces is strongly preferred.
Strong operational and anal‐ytical skills with a bias toward action.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with programmatic platforms (DSPs, SSPs, ad servers, tracking systems).
Strong understanding of pacing, auction dynamics, programmatic KPIs, and optimization levers.
Proficiency in Excel / Sheets for analysis and reporting.
Familiarity with QA tools, troubleshooting methods, and workflow systems.
Bonus : experience building automations, scripts, or operational shortcuts.
