Electoral Expert

We are seeking professionals to join an EU-funded project focused on strengthening democratisation, good governance and conflict prevention.

The overall objective of this assignment is to contribute to reducing the possibility of fraud, manipulation, intimidation which could undermine electoral processes, improve the legal framework and conduct of future elections, as well as public confidence in institutions.

Responsibilities

Strengthen democratisation, good governance and conflict prevention

Contribute to reducing the possibility of fraud, manipulation, intimidation in electoral processes

Improve legal framework and conduct of future elections

Inform European institutions on conduct of elections in selected third countries

Qualifications and Skills

Mastery in law / political science / international relations or 5+ years experience in lieu

10+ years (Cat. I) or 5+ years (Cat. II) general experience in elections / electoral assistance, human rights, democratisation, rule of law / civil society

Election observation / assessment

Electoral systems / administration / standards

Familiarity with national election frameworks

Understanding of election management bodies

Requirements

Mastery degree in relevant field or equivalent experience

Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience

Excellent knowledge of electoral processes and procedures

Strong analytical, communication and project management skills
