Responsibilities
- Support the PDM TWCS Structured Trade team in the syndication and distribution of TWCS transactions globally.
- Assist in reviewing, structuring and designing the most appropriate distribution strategy for Structured Trade assets and Global Transaction Banking for Continental Europe, including structuring risk-mitigation solutions for new business opportunities.
- Prepare presentations and teasers for investors.
- Maintain a wide variety of reports, performance tracking and record keeping.
- Liaise with internal counterparties in TWCS, Risk, Banking and Corporate Finance, Middle and Back Office to ensure seamless operational execution of distributed transactions.
- Attend investor meetings in person or virtually and ensure accurate records are entered into systems and disseminated to the appropriate parties.
- Develop understanding of market dynamics between banks, insurers, corporate clients and other parties in the value chain.
- Support strategic portfolio management initiatives by analyzing cost and portfolio structures and conducting research.
- Occasional travel to London and other European hubs.
- With time, opportunities may arise to work independently on transactions, offering them to investors and managing the full syndication process end to end.
Experience
No specific experience required, but a solid interest in and knowledge of the Corporate and Investment Banking industry and Banco Santander’s place within it is required, as well as awareness of current financial affairs.Relevant internships or work experience in the Corporate and Investment Banking industry can be valuable; we are open to candidates with appropriate education, maturity and a hunger to learn.Education
Bachelor’s degree in a business / economics / law related subject, or a bachelor’s degree in another subject with a strong interest in and knowledge of current affairs, business, finance, economics, etc.Skills & Knowledge
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to persuade investors and internal stakeholdersStrong analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a flexible, dynamic and demanding work environmentProficiency with MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and ExcelGood numerical skills and logical thinking under pressureAbove-average presentation and communication skillsAbility to multi-task under pressureStrong work ethic and ability to learn quicklyFluency in English is a must and may be testedDesirable : prior commercial experienceFluency in additional European languages is a strong differentiatorStrong PowerPoint and / or Excel skillsKnowledge of TWCS products is a bonusInterest or education related to business / economics / law or current affairs, finance, economics etc.If you want to know more about us, follow us on
