Engineering Manager Platform

Spendesk is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform team. This team manages Spendesk’s entire technical infrastructure : the cloud foundation, Kubernetes runtime, CI / CD, networking, security guardrails, and core platform services that every application and service runs on.

Reporting to the CTO, you will define the platform vision and partner with product engineering to improve developer velocity, reliability, security, and cost efficiency across the company. This is a high‑impact leadership opportunity at the core of Spendesk’s SaaS platform, where your work will directly accelerate innovation and empower every product team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver an 18‑month platform roadmap with clear ROI, KPIs, and cost targets.
• Operate and evolve Spendesk’s core infrastructure : AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), networking, CI / CD, observability, secrets / identity, and security guardrails.
• Set platform standards (security baselines, IaC) and provide golden paths and self‑service.
• Ensure reliability with SLOs, robust incident management / on‑call, capacity planning, and DR.
• Scale CI / CD, GitOps, and release practices to simplify and de‑risk delivery.
• Lead FinOps governance, manage budgets, and reduce unit costs.
• Build, coach, and hire for the Platform team; align stakeholders with objective prioritisation and clear communication.
• Champion developer experience and thoughtful AI adoption.
