Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Associate Legal Counsel to play a key role at the heart of a fast-moving, high-growth business. Reporting to the VP Legal, Spain, you’ll support a broad range of commercial activities across the Spanish market, tackling everything from day-to-day legal queries to more complex matters with confidence and impact.
In this role, you’ll go beyond pure legal support—acting as a true business partner, delivering clear, commercially focused advice, driving contract negotiations, and helping shape key projects alongside cross-functional teams. You’ll be instrumental in managing legal risk while enabling innovation and growth in a dynamic, content-driven environment.
We’re looking for a qualified lawyer with around 3 years’ experience in an international law firm or in-house, ideally within media, tech, or audiovisual sectors. A strong command of English (written and spoken) is essential.
This role will be based in our Madrid office.
What You'll Be Doing:
Draft, review, and negotiate sports rights, tech, and commercial partnership agreements
Support development of legal templates, precedents, and internal policies
Advise on antitrust, consumer protection, privacy, and fair competition matters
Handle copyright licensing and broader IP/IT and media-related legal issues
Stay informed on telecoms regulation, public authorities (e.g. CNMC), and industry trends
Identify and assess legal/commercial risks, escalating when needed
Provide practical risk mitigation strategies and support implementation
Follow internal legal processes and help improve efficiency and consistency
Deliver clear, timely legal advice to business teams
Build strong relationships with cross-functional and international stakeholders
Manage workload independently with appropriate senior oversight
Ensure high-quality, consistent contract drafting and quick turnaround times
Develop expertise in key business areas and demonstrate growing autonomy
What You'll Bring:
Strong legal drafting and review skills for standard agreements with good understanding of key commercial contract principles.
Effective communication and stakeholder management with an ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal audiences
Ability to follow established workflows and maintain consistency whilst identifying opportunities for improvement
Ideally some post-qualification experience (PQE) in a [corporate] legal environment, but NQs also considered.
Spanish Law degree and relevant professional qualification. xcskxlj
